A Warm welcome to OMpower Community Yoga cic

OMpower Community Yoga CIC is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company based in Cardiff, whose purpose is to share the benefits of a variety of Yoga practices, and other complementary practices to communities and individuals in a supportive, warm, safe and trauma sensitive environment. Yoga practices have a wonderful capacity to positively affect the different systems in the body, leaving individuals calmer and more resilient. We aim to provide regular classes to benefit individuals physical health, emotional wellbeing and social connection. By providing opportunities to experience Yoga, we hope to empower individuals with the knowledge of the ancient practice to support them to build resilience, enhance their ability to self regulate, and find a sense of ease in the body and mind.

Prices for public classes are varied to ensure accessibility and offer subsidised spaces for those who need them most.

In addition to the public classes, we also offer workshops, wellbeing at the workplace and one to one Yoga sessions. These act as valuable resources that allow us to develop and sustain outreach Yoga projects for populations who experience trauma, persistent pain and mental health challenges. We are reliant on funding bids. Any funds raised are reinvested into the company, to allow us to share Yoga with the community.


ABOUT ELOISE

Hello, my name is Eloise and I am the founder of OMpower Community Yoga CIC. Yoga has enriched my life in many ways and I am continually fascinated to learn how contemporary science is discovering what the ancient yogis already knew. Yoga practices have a wonderful capacity to positively affect the different systems in the body, leaving us calmer and more resilient.

Most of my work experience has been for third sector organisations, supporting and advocating for individuals (adults and children) who have experienced domestic violence, sexual violence and human trafficking. I have a lived experience of childhood sexual trauma, resulting in living with PTSD, anxiety and depression. I have found that a consistent Yoga practice to be hugely valuable in helping me manage these experiences. Yoga has allowed me to feel safe in my body, help manage my emotions and build resilience.

OMpower Community Yoga is born out of my love and appreciation for Yoga and my passion to share practices that can positively impact your health and wellbeing.

Hello, my name is Anisha and I joined Eloise as a director of Ompower Community CIC in December 2023. Having followed her journey from the beginning, I am so pleased to collaborate on delivering and promoting health and wellbeing through yoga and other complementary practices.

 

I have been working as a qualified GP for the last 12 years, and have seen the way medicine has evolved with a need to focus on improving lifestyle and wellbeing.  Holistic care has always been a passion and I am excited to pursue this through Ompower Community CIC.
