our impact

We just wanted to say a huge thank you to all the amazing warrior women who shared Yoga and other mind/body practices to support wellbeing.

Thank you for building a wonderful community of support and connection over the last 12 months. Sadly, our project has ended, however, we are hopeful that we will back soon, so our wonderful community can continue to thrive.

We would also like to thank The National Lottery for funding our Wellness for Women Survivors Project over the last 12 months, and to the Grange Pavilion for providing a beautiful, calm and safe space for women.

Thank you to the organisations who shared our project information and referred women to our space. We really appreciate your support.

Our Wellness for Women Survivors Project was funded by the National Lottery for 1 year.

During the last 12 months our project has:

  • Delivered free weekly wellbeing workshops for women with mental health challenges. Workshops provided several mind/body practices including Yoga, breathwork, mindfulness, meditation, and holistic therapies.

  • Offered a person led, socially inclusive, empowering service, including supporting women within the BME community and those who have neurodiverse needs.

  • Supported 82 women through the workshops.

  • Responded to specific needs of women; for example, providing workshops for menopause, healthy sleep, pelvic floor issues, anxiety, and lower back pain.

Through anonymous feedback forms, 100% of women who attended our wellbeing workshops either strongly agree or agree that they felt safe, feel better emotionally and physically, feel more connected to others, and would like to continue to receive support through our project.

Our project delivered six free therapeutic, trauma - informed Yoga for Survivors courses to support women manage their experience of trauma, stress, and anxiety.

  • 52 women were supported through the Yoga for Survivors courses.

  • Through anonymous feedback forms, 100% of women who attended either strongly agree or agree that the course helped them feel better physically and emotionally, helped develop skills in coping with life’s challenges, feel more connected to others, would like ongoing support from Yoga, and would recommend the course to others.

  • We established relationships with key organisations including, 4Winds, Primary Mental Health Service, The NHS Trauma and Stress Service Cardiff and Vale, and established referral pathways.

  • We hope that, by offering embodied approaches to healing, we can complement psychological services; as we provide the nervous system regulation, grounding, body awareness, which can support women to stay present and explore cognitive restructuring successfully.

Here is some wonderful feedback from some of the project participants:

“The power of positive impact the project has is ineffable and invaluable. Thank you both very much.”

“These sessions encourage me to be active again; support my physical and mental health. Having a women-only space creates a strong sense of connection and community and the many Yoga focuses and practices we have explored are amazing. It is the highlight of my week.”

“Everyone is lovely and welcoming. I feel so at peace here.”

“Thank you for creating such a beautiful, creative, safe space to learn, feel and grow into my power.”

“Very well worthwhile course to anyone who has suffered trauma or abuse of any kind. A wonderful sense of community and very friendly and supportive.”
